ENERGY & NATURAL RESOURCES
The Earth’s natural resources are abundant, but often finite. Striking a balance between good stewardship of these resources while maximizing their benefit to the population at large can be a difficult task. Our focus in this area includes representing clients in the development of electrical energy and other natural resources. Our work in the field includes several large and small-scale solar and geothermal energy generation projects, as well as pilot and other developmental projects focused on development of minerals and other metals.
We advise on a range of development matters, including certain land use and entitlement and California environmental compliance matters (CEQA). We also advise clients on an array of natural resource matters, including exploration, and development of minerals, water and other natural resources.
- Represented California-based utility scale solar developer in development and financing of solar generation facilities in Southern California.
- Represented a large energy generation company in review and drafting of various real estate transactional matters including acquisition and disposition of surface and subsurface interests for the development and operation of electric generation facilities with 300+ megawatts of installed capacity.
- Represented multiple separate clients in review and negotiation of private, utility and municipal easements and other rights-of-way.
- Handled acquisition and disposition of various subsurface rights, including geothermal, oil and carbon, and mineral interests.
